Palace Hotel San Francisco

From LoveToKnow SanFrancisco

In the early 1900’s, the Palace Hotel San Francisco burned to the ground, only to be reopened a few years later. Later, the hotel closed in the 1980’s for a major renovation. The resulting four-star Palace Hotel San Francisco opened in 1991 and proved to be as amazing as its predecessors.

Included in the room price are free bottles of water, terry clothe robes, hypoallergenic pillows, 24-hour room service, voice mail, Web TV, dual phone lines, laptop computer safes, and marble bathrooms with brass fixtures, irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, and massaging showerheads.

A standard guest room offers lush bedding on king or double beds, a small seating area, an executive desk, and a separate bathroom. The 522 standard guest rooms contain computer and Internet hook-ups, mini refrigerators stocked with free bottled water, and fax machine hook-ups. Standard guest rooms typically start at $259 per night. Special offers are available over the Internet, however, that can substantially decrease the rate of the room.

There are also thirty-four suites at Palace Hotel. Guests needing suite accommodations may choose between one or two bedroom suites, a Presidential Suite, the Governor’s Suite, an Ambassador’s Suite, and a Chancellor’s Suite. A one or two bedroom suite separates the sleeping and living areas. Amenities in a one or two bedroom suite remain the same as those found in a standard room. These suites also contain the original fireplaces, though they cannot be used due to local fire codes. These suites may contain one or more of the following: lavish glass chandeliers, pianos, dining rooms, living rooms, and sleeping areas that will amaze even the most seasoned of travelers. Suites can only be booked by calling the hotel directly through their toll-free number.
